How To Improve Your ROI In PPC Advertising

Pay per click advertising has the potential to make a great deal of profit for you, if done correctly. On the other hand, you might start losing money really fast if you do not know what you are doing. As the competition becomes fiercer in any market online or offline, the survival of a successful PPC campaign relies on some of the key points that I will mention below.

In PPC marketing, you will be paying for each click, whether it ends with your desired action or not. Therefore you should aim, first to get the most out of the clicks and then try to lower the costs of those clicks.

How can you get the most out of a click? By increasing the relevancy of course. Your ad should be related to the keyword in order someone to click your ad after performing a search through that keyword. Furthermore your landing page should be relevant to your ad copy, hence to the keyword, in order that person who clicked your ad to stay on your page and read what you have to offer. For example a person looking for a specific product using the name of the product as the search query, will not be much interested if you offer another product on your landing page. This will lead to worthless clicks and loss of money.

Conversion rate is another point you should continually try to increase. Getting a hundred clicks for a total of $25 and having one sale of $20 out of that hundred clicks will render you poorer. So, your aim should be to increase the conversion rate. You can do this by testing the performance of your landing page. Try different designs, different sales copies and change the offer if you can time to time to have a higher conversion rate.

If we come to how to lower the cost of the clicks, there is one thing that you should never stop implementing. Always split test the ads in your campaign. Test two items at one time. For example test the headline of the ad, then the copy of the ad and see what happens when you change the amount of the bid. Once you spot a well performing ad, delete the other and create a new one to test with the one that performs well. Your purpose here is to have more clicks per impression, which will lead to an increase in your click through rate. And that will decrease the cost per click of your ads.

One last thing you should never forget is to spend no more than what you earn in PPC.
