Hey Mark,
Yea, sounds like you are were I was about this time last year. I tried my hand with anti spyware software, got to the same point:
spend 50 bucks, make 25 bucks.
I might re-enter ppc with some other stuff promoting ebay … I have some ideas. Sure is not easy though !

The only reason I’d put up a quick campaign is to see what kind of traffic my keywords are going to get.
Going off what you said about “aerogarden” it looks like you left the content network turn ed on thats going to make your CTR terrible,
$1 per click-thats crazy, what kind of quality score did you have with your keywords?
How many adgorups? How many keywords per ad group?
If I was paying $1 per click I would want a minimum of $250 per sale.

If your good at SEO then maybe you should be making your own squeeze pages/mini site, for what ever product your promoting, this will give you a better chance at getting a good quality score, plus give you the option to capture the email address to build a list related to the niche.
Did you use negative keywords in your “aerogarden” campaign?
