Well here is the secret to success of online marketing. In order to market anything online you need to find a way to get visitors to your website.  That is to say you need people who are interested in what you are offering.

There are two ways you can do this online:

1. Use paid traffic methods like PPC. Pay per click (PPC) is an internet advertising model used on websites, in which advertisers pay their host (the host is you and your website) only when their ad is clicked.

2. Generate “free” traffic from organic search engine rankings, use viral marketing tactics, or generate links from high traffic pages.

This is an overview of paid traffic. Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, and Microsoft adCenter are the three largest network operators. This is where you will find most of your PPC business.

First off you must find a market keyword for your product, service or knowledge that you are selling. That is what do people search for related to your product.

On Pay per click, once you find your market keyword you need to think about your break even point.  For example if you pay $1.00 and your product is $100, you need a sale every 100 clicks to break even.

So the million dollar question is..Can you get a hundred clicks and if so how long will it take. This leads back to how many visitors can you get to your site that are looking for these types of products.

Expand your reach through the web.
With hundreds of thousands of high-quality websites, news pages,social media outlets and blogs to display PPC ads, your content can reach users all over the web to help you drive conversions. Choose from text, image, and video formats to communicate your message.

Target the right user in the right context.
Using your keywords, Google’s contextual targeting technology can automatically match your ads to webpages in our content network that are most relevant to your business. For example, an ad for a scuba gear may show up next to an article reviewing the latest scuba masks.

Measure and optimize your results.
Review your ad’s performance on a site-by-site basis to see impression, click, cost, and conversion data, and use this data to identify well-performing sites to target more aggressively.

Whew.. All we need to do now is get more profitable keywords, make more web pages, and get more people into our marketing funnel.

Try pay per click first on your webpages to find out if your market is worth the effort. If it sells and generates and income, by all means possible get more vistors from multi streams to make more money.
