A Simple Internet Business Strategy
There are tons of different marketing models that people can use to make money online but nearly all of them have considerable costs involved when getting started. Today I’d like to write a quick article about a very simple business model that anybody can use almost immediately to start making money online without spending hardly any money at all to get started.
This idea is nothing new, in fact tens of thousands of people use it to make their living online. The great thing about it is that it doesn’t cost hardly anything to get started. I’m not sure it has a known name but I’m going to call it content publishing.
The idea of content publishing is to build a simple website, or several simple websites, related to specific niche topics; mostly product related topics.
For instance electric razors. What you do is create a website or a blog where you write about electric razors. You can get started for free doing this at any number of free blog sites online such as blogger or WordPress; or you can register your own domain name for as little as eight dollars and order web hosting for as little as $20. When you get right down to it those are the only costs involved, making this incredibly attractive for those of us on a shoestring budget.
So how do you monetize something like this, that is, how do you make money? There are basically two ways. The first way is to sign-up for adsense by Google. By placing a small snippet of code at the top of each page on your website Google can then run advertisements on your blog. Any time somebody clicks on one of those ads you make a little bit of money.
The other way is to join some sort of affiliate program such as clickbank or Amazon.com’s affiliate program and then put affiliate links throughout your website. Anytime somebody clicks on those links and then goes on to buy the product, such as the electric razor that you just wrote about, you earn a commission.
That’s really all there is to it. The cornerstone of this model is free traffic from search engines. The more you write about your specific niche and the better the information content you create is, the higher you will rank at the search engines and therefore the more traffic the search engines will send your website. The more people that come to your website, the more people there are to click on your links and earn you money.
Of course, there are many different ways to optimize your website for the search engines and improve your rankings by getting other websites to link to your website, but that’s an article for another time.
